"Little Boy" was the code name for the atomic bomb dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, by the B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay. It was the first atomic bomb to be used in warfare and triggered the unconditional surrender of the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces.
